Congratulations to Jonathan Sprouts on 50 years of business.

"I'm thrilled to celebrate this milestone," Jonathan Sprouts President Liz Reilley said.

The SouthCoast business, based in Rochester, Massachusetts, has been a staple in the community for generations.

The Early Days of Jonathan Sprouts

"I started working for Jonathan Sprouts at age 13 when my aunt and uncle, Bob and Barbara Sanderson, first launched the business," Reilley said.

It was a family affair from the very beginning. "My cousins, friends, and I were paid a penny per bag to pack sprouts. Things were very different back then," Reilley said.

Pioneering the Sprout Market in New England

"Bob and Barbara pioneered bringing sprouts to the retail market, which is why New England remains the most developed sprout market in the country," Reilley said. It surpasses California and the West Coast.
