Despite some lawmakers wanting to use a split rate tax system in Wareham (meaning business owners get charged a different rate than residential home owners), the town will stick with the uniform rate The Standard Times reports, "The Board of Selectmen voted 4-0 to OK Nichols’ recommendation for tax policy for 2018."

The reason for the mainstay system came from other town leaders arguing the split tax rate system would fail and it's simply not plausible for the city, so the tax rate of $11.28 per $1000 is staying put!
