How many times have you told yourself that this was going to be the year that you escaped from your comfort zone to try out for American Idol? No need to hesitate or procrastinate any longer as the 2022 tryouts are just days away.

Numerous states have already been booked up or looked over already, but on September 2, every singer in Massachusetts will have the opportunity of a lifetime to perform in front of three judges. Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katie Perry will be returning for the upcoming season alongside host Ryan Seacrest. This will be the fifth consecutive season for the judges as a team and a return for Seacrest as Bobby Bones will continue to mentor the contestants.

This will be the 20th season for the OG singing show on ABC, and once again, we are all preparing for the best and of course the worst performances for 2022.

On American Idol's submission website for those interested in performing, you'll notice it's a on a first come, first served basis.

Anyone from Massachusetts who thinks they have what it takes to compete and become the next American Idol can apply here, but get in quickly before all the spots are taken up.

Since COVID-19 is still a very real concern, some people might not feel comfortable surrounded by a large crowd of people. If you fall into this category, there's a way to submit a video of your audition that you can record from the comfort and safety of your home.

Best of luck to all who try out, and remember, if you don't make it the first time, even the second, there's no need to give up. Pick yourself up, wait until next year and give it another go.
