A Strange Early-Morning Sight Over Acushnet

It seems like the topic of UFOs, or rather, UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) is coming up more often lately. The term UAP was introduced to distance modern sightings from the old “little green men” stereotype of UFOs.

Ever since UAPs became a subject of serious government discussion, including a recent House Oversight Committee hearing pushing for more transparency, public interest has skyrocketed.

That growing attention has led more people to notice unusual things in the sky and quickly capture them on their phones. Fun 107 has been receiving more and more videos of strange lights overhead. You might remember the hundreds of drone sighting reports last December.

Acushnet Resident Captures a Mystery in the Sky

The latest clip came from Andrea in Acushnet, who recorded an unusual glowing object early Thursday morning around 5:30 a.m. on October 16, 2025.

“I know this is weird,” Andrea wrote. “I’ve never submitted anything to the news before, but I see things like this sometimes on TV. It almost looked like a comet or meteor, but the direction of travel seemed strange.”

So What Was It?

We reached out to 12 News meteorologist T.J. DelSanto, who immediately solved the mystery.

“That was a Falcon 9 rocket launched from Florida at 5:27 a.m.,” DelSanto explained. “It was deploying 28 Starlink satellites into orbit.”

While it wasn’t a flying saucer, it was still an incredible sight. We asked Andrea if we could share her video on Fun107.com and she enthusiastically agreed. Thanks for sharing, Andrea.
