Acushnet Fire Department 9/11 Anniversary Shirts

As we approach the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, many will be showing their appreciation for the brave men and women who lost their lives in the horrific New York City attacks with vigils, moments of silence and more.

The Acushnet Fire Department is reflecting upon the day that changed the world by creating a ceremonial T-shirt.

"The front features our 25th Anniversary Acushnet Fire & EMS Maltese Cross, while the back highlights our Station 1 memorial and the piece of World Trade Center steel displayed there," the department shared on Facebook.

Built by the Community: Acushnet’s Historic 9/11 Memorial

If you've ever driven by the Acushnet Fire Department, chances are you've caught sight of its 9/11 memorial. Built entirely from community donations, local fundraising and constructed by volunteers, the memorial features a 2,700-pound steel beam from the Twin Towers, a piece of the Pentagon, and a rock from the crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Acushnet Fire & EMS holds annual remembrance events at the memorial site to honor the victims, families and first responders who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.

Supporting the Acushnet 9/11 Memorial Fund

Proceeds from the T-shirt sales will benefit the Acushnet 9/11 Memorial Fund, which helps with the upkeep and maintenance of the memorial and future celebrations.

Adult T-shirts are available for $25 and range in size from XS to XXXL. Youth tees are also available to purchase for $20 and range from XS to XL. You can order your t-shirts online and they will arrive after September 11.

Take a visual tour of the Acushnet Fire Department’s 9/11 Memorial in Acushnet, Massachusetts.
