Acushnet Creamery Finally Adds Soft-Serve After Years of Requests
If you needed a reason to smile today (or, let’s be honest, an excuse for dessert), Acushnet Creamery has you covered.
After taking a holiday break that started on December 24, the shop is officially back open today — and returning with a big New Year surprise: soft-serve ice cream.
That’s right. After years of customers asking (okay, begging), Acushnet Creamery is finally giving the people what they want. The soft-serve lineup kicks off with chocolate, vanilla, and a classic twist, plus eight rotating flavor bursts that can be mixed in like specials.
Current flavor bursts include cotton candy, bubble gum, mocha cappuccino, raspberry, strawberry, coffee and cream, creamsicle, and pistachio — but don’t get too attached. Just like Acushnet Creamery's specials, flavors will change to keep things fresh and fun.
A Long Time Coming That Was Totally Worth the Wait
According to manager Kaitlyn Kingsley, this has been a long time in the making.
“I’m so excited. We’ve been trying to get (owner) Doug Coray to do this for years. I’ve been pestering him for months,” she said.

The idea really took shape over the summer, but the team decided winter would be the perfect time to practice and perfect the process.
More Soft-Serve, More Possibilities
Soft-serve is available in small, medium, and large sizes, served in a cup or a homemade waffle cone. No dipped cones yet, but they’re hoping to add that soon. Even better is that Nor’Easters, Acushnet Creamery’s take on Blizzards or McFlurries, can now be made with any soft-serve flavor.
And yes, Biscoff Butter Swirl now has a permanent home on the menu.
When to Go
Acushnet Creamery is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and judging by the excitement, this soft-serve debut is about to be very well-loved.
Winter just got a whole lot sweeter.
