The Surprising Place With Lines Before the Storm
Whenever we hear about a weather event coming, we make our way to the store to get survival items, but there's a surprising item that many of us on the SouthCoast need before a storm hits.
The Classic Bread-and-Milk Panic
This blizzard escalated quickly, leaving us with only a day or two to prepare and a mad rush to grocery stores. Like most, I grabbed the necessities like bread, milk, and adult beverages.

This storm, I noticed something I hadn't noticed before, both on my social media page and in real life. I expect there to be lines at places like grocery and convenience stores. Lowe's and Home Depot see lines for items like rock salt.
What I truly didn't expect to see on the day before a blizzard was predicted to hit the SouthCoast was a line for most of the day at Acushnet Creamery.

I'm not judging anyone, but don't you find it interesting that before a snowstorm, people are getting in line to get a pint or two of our favorite ice cream?

Many of us enjoy comfort food when we hunker down, and I'd be a hypocrite if I said I didn't grab myself a pint of chocolate chip cookie dough and plopped my butt on the couch until I worked my way through the entire pint. Mind your business.

Were you one of those people at your neighborhood ice cream spot, or did you grab a gallon tub at the grocery store? Why are we like this?
It's interesting to think how even during freezing weather events, so many of us want to shovel ice cream into our mouths while trying to stay warm.
I'd be interested to see what you have in your freezer right now. I bet it's ice cream.
