Tis the season for holiday shows and concerts and Providence is gearing up for Christmas with a special show.

The Trinity Rep has made some slight modifications to their show "A Christmas Carol" in order to make it sensory friendly for all ages, making the musical compatible for children and adults with Autism who struggle with loud noises and certain visuals.

They've evened out the lighting to prevent blackouts, dulled loud sounds, and softened any harsh changes in scenes. Trinity Rep will also provide a list of trigger warnings and a plot synopsis in the lobby which can act as a safe space for viewers if they need a break. By making the performance sensor-friendly, the show is able to be enjoyed by everyone. Those who are on the autism spectrum or are easily overwhelmed are able to view the show without worrying about a sensory overload.

This show is in its sixth year, but this is the first year of the show being sensory friendly, essentially re-titling the show-  "Sensory-Friendly Plus!".

Sensory Friendly Plus! is going to be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 12:00 pm with tickets being sold for $27 per ticket. To buy tickets you can call (401) 351-4242. You can also visit the Trinity Rep (201 Washington St. in Providence) for tickets.

With the holidays right around the corner, this show is the perfect start to a magical season to be spent with family and friends.
