If you are planning to spent the winter in Southern California or in the desert Southwest dry, warm breezes await you.  The rest of the country, not so much.  AccuWeather says the rest of the nation can anticipate the winter weather abyss.

As we here in the Northeast sip our pumpkin spice lattes and prepare the jack-o-lanterns for Halloween Mother Nature is planning to open a can of whoop-butt on us. AccuWeather says the Northeast region can expect frequent storms with above-normal snowfall lasting into the early or middle part of spring. Temperatures are projected to average between 3 and 5 degrees lower than last year. In short...we're gonna get hammered!!

And don't expect Disney to save you either as the Southeast is expected to shiver too and that could threaten citrus crops, says AccuWeather.  The Northern Plains and the Midwest will pay a price as will the Southern Plains and the Gulf but winter will get a late start there.

If all of this sounds depressing...it is.  Good time to stock up on canned food, candles, bottled water and batteries, but please, leave some milk and bread for me!!
