Another great job by The New Bedford Police Dept. They took more drugs off the street

A New Bedford couple is facing drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in the city Wednesday night.

Following a weeks-long investigation, city police said they pulled over a rental car at about 9:30 p.m. near the corner of Union Street and Route 18. Driving was Nicole Gillihan, 45, of South Water Street, and the passenger was her boyfriend, Jonathan Carney, 38, of Roseanne Street.

Officers conducted a search and found Carney had approximately 124 grams of heroin on him. According to police, the drugs have a street value of more than $12,000.
