11-Year-Old Fairhaven Pitbull Sent to Shelter After Owner Passes Away [WET NOSE WEDNESDAY]
Wet Nose Wednesday is here again.
There are hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast that are waiting for a loving family, and every week, we aim to unite these adorable animals with loving families.
For Wet Nose Wednesday, the spotlight is shined on one lucky animal, and this week, it's an 11-year-old pit bull at Fairhaven Animal Shelter in Fairhaven.
Meet Maggie. Maggie is described as an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets.
"After you meet her, you will quickly fall in love yourself," said the shelter.
Maggie was safe at a forever home, but unfortunately, her owner passed away. The family was unable to give her the home she deserves, so they brought her to the shelter where she has stayed for the past two months.
"She breaks our hearts when we leave for the day because she literally cries when we tell her goodnight," said Terry Cripps, director of Fairhaven Animal Shelter.
This old girl must be so confused. One minute she was home, and the next minute, she was sleeping at a shelter.
While the past couple of months have been difficult for Maggie, her personality continues to shine. She needs to lose a couple of pounds, but it's nothing a few walks can't fix.
Does Maggie sound like a good fit for your family? Visit their Facebook and schedule a play date.
No dog should spend their final years in a shelter. Let's find her a new place to call home.
