Seems crazy to think that there are people who have never seen the ocean, especially being here in the Bay State and being right next to the Ocean State, right?

Well, for Ruby Holt it was a reality. Ruby is 100 years old, and lived her whole life on a farm in Tennessee, raising her family and says she didn't have time or the money to ever get out to make the trip to see the ocean, but she had heard from others that it was beautiful. She's about to celebrate another birthday and for her 101st, her wish was to finally get to see the ocean.

Ruby's assisted living center got in touch with the Wish of a Lifetime organization to turn her wish into a reality. They granted her an all expense paid trip to the Gulf of Mexico!

Ruby was given a motorized wheelchair with thick wheels so she could easily move on the sand. She also got to feel the sand and the water on her feet. Ruby was giddy with laughter and full of smiles seeing the ocean for the very first time, she said she'd "never seen anything as big as the ocean."

Ruby got her birthday wish just a tad early, she turns 101 on December 13th. You can check out the video of her trip to the ocean here:
