The average woman gains 7 pounds between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  7 pounds!!!  That is a lot of weight to pack on in just 30 days, don't you think?

You don't have to completely deprive yourself of the holiday cheer that goes along with the Thanksgiving, Christmas and all of the holidays during this time of year. You just have to follow these 3 things and trust me, you will not gain any extra weight.  Because who needs that?

In fact, if you follow these reccomendations, you will actually lose weight through the holiday season.

1. Make sure you are getting 100 grams of protein into your body EVERY day. This means each meal should have some protein in it and make sure your small snack has protein too.  An example would be a plain greek yogurt with a handfull of berries added to it. Drink 64 ounces of water throughout the day while making sure you are taking in between 1300-1600 quality calories each day, that means no junk.

2. You take only 1 free day in a full 7 days.  Your free day consists of the regimen above but with a meal of choice (like going out for Mexican food) and an alcoholic beverage if you'd like.  But thats it because 6 of those 7 days have to be spot on when it comes to your nutrition.

3. Be active most days of the week.  Your best bet would be HIIT which stands for High Intensity Interval Training and is considered a cardiovascular activity.  An example would be walking for 3 minutes then switching to a fast walk or a jog/run for 1 full minute.  After the full minute, you would slow back down to a walk and stay a course with these intervals for 25-30 minutes. This allows your body to burn fat at the fastest rate possible. This is the best form of HIIT as it can be done anywhere, in a gym or outside.  Another type of exercise to incorporate into your exercise would be 20-25 minutes of strength training at least 3x each week.

There you have it, 3 things to start inplementing into your life so that you don't gain weight through the holidays.  In fact, you will lose weight, trust me!  Give it a shot :)
