Events are being canceled across the country as well as in our own backyard.

The Zeiterion has announced that it is postponing or canceling all performances, classes and events through March 31.

Like many venues, artists and businesses, the Z is putting a hold on future events due to concern over the coronavirus.

In a press release sent out earlier today, executive directors Rosemary Gill and Justin T. LaCroix said they "are taking the precautions necessary to stem the tide of this virus."

They added that they are still working with the artists that were booked during March to see what options there might be for rescheduling shows and will keep ticket holders informed as they have more details.

Anyone who was signed up for a class or has tickets for upcoming shows and events will be emailed with details on what steps to take next, though several shows have their rescheduled dates listed on the Zeiterion website already.

Like the On A Winter's Night musical performance scheduled for March 12. It has been moved until February 5, 2021.

The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra's Breaking Boundaries performance slated for Saturday, March 14, however, has been announced as canceled.

There are many other shows that were scheduled for the remainder of March that have yet to go either way. The Zeiterion says people can check back on their site to get the latest on these shows.

Tickets for events and performances in April are still on sale, as are tickets for their recently added Star Wars movie marathon on May 4.
