Free Youth Climate Summit Coming to Buttonwood Park Zoo
If you’ve got a teen in the house who cares about nature and the planet (and perhaps lectures you about climate change every once in a while), this is right up their alley.
On Saturday, November 15, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Buttonwood Park Zoo will be the site of a free Youth Climate Summit hosted by Mass Audubon.
It’s the perfect chance for young environmentalists to connect, learn, and make a real difference.

Not only is the summit totally free, but breakfast and lunch are included in the day-long event as well. Plan for hours of hands-on workshops and speakers who are doing big things for our planet.

Highlights include the New Bedford Air Quality Project with Groundwork SouthCoast, a session from Black Girl Environmentalist founder Rene LaPointe Jameson, and even a Science on a Sphere experience with zoo staff.
Workshops That Inspire Climate Action
There’s also a storytelling workshop focused on how sharing ideas can help solve the climate crisis — perfect for kids who want to use their voice for change.

It’s a day of learning, empowerment, and community — plus, it’s happening right in our own backyard of the SouthCoast’s most beloved family spots.
How to Register for the Youth Climate Summit
Spots at the Mass Audubon SouthCoast Youth Climate Summit are limited, and pre-registration is required, so if your teen’s interested, don’t wait. Who knows, this might just be the spark that turns your teen’s eco-passions into lifelong action.
