Yesteryear Cyclery Replaces Stolen Bike for Boy with Autism
Candi Bessette's 15-year-old son, Mikey has autism. She claims that his bike is his world and that he was devastated when it was stolen. Her own heart was breaking seeing her son so upset. However, someone sent her a message on Wednesday that would help turn all their frowns upside down.
I received a message this morning from Kim from Yesteryear telling me he wanted me to bring my son over to get a new bike and lock. I am so happy there are still generous people in the community to help my son who has autism and knew who he was and can now have his freedom with his bike. I felt I needed to share the experience of the power of people and good people.
Yesteryear Cyclery posted the photo on their Facebook page after donating the new wheels to Mikey from Acushnet.
"Very happy to donate a beautiful Giant Revel ATB to Mikey Bessette, who's bike was stolen from him. Smiles are worth far more than dollars."
Special thanks to Danielle Renay and Ossie Magalhaes for helping the Bessette family.
