Why Do Women Watch More NFL Football Now Than Ever Before?

Watching NFL football and knowing the game are two completely different things in today's world.

This morning on the Rock and Fox Show, the Morning Mindbender questions had to do with women and football. The question read like this: More American women 25-54 are doing this now than ever before, what is it? We gave out a couple of clues with it, such as it’s not health or appearance-related, it's up 17 percent from last year, and it would happen on Thursday nights.

The answer? Watching NFL football.

Sports analysts over at Fox Sports came up with a bunch of reasons why the number of female fans is on the rise, as explained in a recent Boston Globe article. However, I've got my own take on it.

I'd say in the past two years, the players have spent a good amount of time posting on their own social media platforms, Instagram especially. Well, women love their IG and I think that we feel like we know these guys in a sense and we like them and want to see more of them (not just because they're handsome, but they are). I'm thinking the New England Patriots have a higher percentage because we've been winning for so long but I'm sure these numbers are similar everywhere else among female NFL football fans. Between Tom Brady, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski, my Instagram feed is pretty entertaining.
