It's that time of year, for delicious, mouth-watering peaches. But where are the best of the best?

A few years ago, a friend of mine told me that she had found this place that has the absolute best peaches she'd ever tasted. She said it wasn't a guarantee that she would get a box full every Sunday during the early fall season but she would make the 40-minute trek each week regardless. She said they were that good.

And she was right.

My friend had heard about this peach farm through a friend who raved about the peaches and the pies they also sell. She drove from her home in Plymouth all the way over to Acushnet to see what all the fuss was about. And she's been hooked ever since.

Here's the thing: you kind of have to jump through a hoop or two to even get your hands on a box of these amazing peaches. Ashley Family Orchard is located at 1461 Main Street in Acushnet, pretty far in and not far from the Rochester line on the left-hand side. The peach farm is adjacent to their mustard-colored Cape-style home. Right now, on Sunday mornings, you drive to Ashley's and grab a "ticket" in the morning. If you are lucky enough to get a ticket before they run out of them, you are guaranteed a giant box of these amazing peaches. You will be told to come back in a couple of hours once they pick and arrange the peaches for you and everyone else who was lucky to get a ticket.

The Ashley Family Orchard doesn't have set hours during the summer and fall season but are open here and there during the week and on Saturdays. You have to be willing to risk it and take a ride into Acushnet.

How much do they cost, you ask? One large box of about 20-plus peaches (pictured above) is $20. I will tell you first hand, they are well worth jumping through hoops and believe me, I am not alone. Anyone who's experienced an Ashley Family Orchard peach would agree.🍑😋🙋🏼
