Fall River city councilor Richard Cabeceiras announced his candidacy for mayor  at a campaign event this past Saturday, as reported by the Herald News. Here's everything you need to know about the potential candidate to challenge Mayor Jasiel Correia II.

Richard Cabeceiras is a 33 year old city councilor, presently an independent businessman. Cabeceiras is a longtime Fall River resident who served a tour in Iraq as an Army reservist, as well as serving over three years as a Fall River firefighter.

Cabeceiras' main focuses will be on middle class job creation and a new economic development policy. Cabeceiras is also reported to be focusing on education, public safety, and the expansion of arts and culture in the city.
