"Good Morning! What can I get for you today?"

I felt as though these words were automated as I greeted each coffee drinker and donut muncher who entered the drive-thru at Dunkin Donuts.

Our friends over at the Alden Road, Fairhaven, MA location allowed Fun 107 to take over the drive-thru and I was the man for the job! Despite having zero-experience in any fast food service company, I was confident that it was going to be a breeze...

I was dead-wrong.

The experienced "Team Alden" were running circles around me and fear of getting in the way overcame me. I mean... these people were good! It was very difficult to hear each customer and when someone would give a difficult order, I was amazed at how fast the workers attacked it and got it ready for delivery. I give props where props are deserved and props were definitely served to all!

Secondly, not everyone is a morning person, so keeping a positive attitude towards the grumpy and disgruntled was a bit draining, but customer service is key when working at Dunkin Donuts! Besides, people are simply cranky because they have yet to have their morning coffee... so in a way, I feel like I helped these people prep for whatever is thrown at them for the day!

Lastly, I learned (the hard way) that the floor conditions aren't always going to be 100% dry. With ice and drinks being made every 3 seconds, it's not rare to see a few drops on the floor, making it somewhat of an ice rink. Without proper footwear, as in 'no-slip' shoes, I found myself skating around, at one point almost falling on my keister! The friendly staff at Dunkin Donuts provided me with these great no-slip shoe covers that slipped over my regular shoes, allowing me to walk around with zero-worries of falling or slipping!

All in all, I had a great time and almost too much fun interacting with the customers and spending some time around the real "Pros" of Dunkin Donuts. I definitely learned a lot and have a whole new respect and perspective on what it's like to work at Dunkin Donuts!
