Congratulations to Fun 107's SouthCoast Teacher of the Month for November 2020. Thank you to our sponsor Spindle City Auto Glass for helping to make this school classroom even better.

Teal Gildea is a fourth-grade teacher at Westport Elementary School who received an amazing nomination for the SouthCoast Teacher of the Month Contest in November. Needless to say, our sponsor Spindle City Auto Glass was seriously impressed after reading about all the wonderful work she's done and we couldn't agree more.
Michael and Maddie sent a video to our winning recipient:
Ms. Gildea received such touching nomination letters to Fun 107, so we decided to share it with the rest of you:

The submissions read as follows:

"The year started off remote, and Ms. Gildea hit the ground running. She started immediate communication with parents and made sure all of us knew what to expect from remote learning even if she wasn’t sure what to expect. From the moment my daughter logged on for her first day, she made each child feel comfortable even if they all weren’t together. She kept them engaged and on task. Experiencing remote learning as a working single parent in March, I had little faith this wouldn’t be a train wreck. But to my surprise, I only saw my daughter on breaks and when I did, she was smiling and loving school and she was actually learning! When open house didn’t go as planned virtually, she took the time to reply to each email and was candid and thoughtful reassuring parents that the transition back to in-person would be alright. Since returning back to in-person, full-time, my daughter raves about school and her teacher. Ms. Gildea exudes positivity during such an uncertain time and helps our kids know everything will be ok at least at school!"

Congratulations to Ms. Gildea and everyone over at the Westport Elementary School who work so hard each and every day to make a fun learning environment for all our kids.

If your child’s teacher is one of those amazing human beings that goes above and beyond for their students and deserves some recognition this year, nominate him or her for the Teacher of the Month award. They may be as lucky as Ms. Gildea.

Let’s show our teachers some love for working so hard for our kids.
