Westport High 2005 Memories Resurface in Viral TikTok Video
When it comes to high school, I have a love-hate relationship with the fact that it’s been 20 years since I graduated.
First of all, where did the time go?
Two decades have flown by, packed with a rollercoaster of emotions, stress and memories I’ll cherish forever. I went to Westport High School, a pretty average school with small-town vibes. Nothing too crazy, but it had its moments.
I played basketball, rocked the mascot costume (if you didn’t know that, are you even surprised?), and let’s just say my grades were fine.
But beyond all that, some classes and teachers shaped who I am today.
Journalism class, for example, laid the foundation for my writing – including this very article. Band helped fuel my love for music, leading me to everything from teaching piano to producing a radio show to flexing my skills in audio engineering and production.
It all started with my roots at WHS.
That’s why I did a double take when I came across a TikTok page called nostalgiagalore, boasting nearly half a million followers and close to 23 million likes. It claims to be "the closest to a time machine you’ll ever get," and honestly, they’re not wrong.

One of their videos, which has racked up over 13,000 likes and more than 400,000 views, features footage from Westport High School. I have no idea where they dug it up from, but it’s clearly from our video yearbook. While I didn’t make the cut, it’s still pretty rad to relive the good old days of 2005.
Time flies, but at least nostalgia lets us hit rewind – if only for a moment.
