The first day of school jitters just got a whole lot lighter thanks to a creative video from Westport Elementary School.

Teachers, staff, the school’s RSO, and even the beloved mascot Westie came together to send a cheerful message to students returning for the new school year:

“The staff at Westport Elementary are excited and ready to welcome our students back for another great school year! We can’t wait to see smiling faces, hear laughter in the halls, and start learning together. Let’s make this year the best one yet!” Westport Community Schools posted.

A Warm Welcome Back

Instead of just opening the doors and ringing the bell, Westport Elementary decided to do something a little different this year.

The fun video, posted to the Westport Community Schools Facebook page, highlights just how excited the staff is to see their students again. From playful waves to the special guest appearance of "Westie" the mascot, the goal was simple: make kids feel at ease about returning to school.
