
Watch New Bedford Dads Win First Place at Regional Dance Competition
New Bedford dads put on quite the show in Framingham, MA last weekend and walked away with a special judges awards for their efforts.
It was a big weekend all around for the dancers at Dance Xtreme in New Bedford, with plenty of hardware being brought home by a number of dancers.
But it was the performance from a group of Dance Xtreme dads that really brought the house down.

Both of my young daughters take dance classes, but I'm pretty sure my husband would never think to get on the dance floor himself.

That is clearly not the case for a group of fathers from the SouthCoast who were happy to show off their moves, while also cheering on their children's performances too.
And these dads have moves...
In a performance that mixed hip-hop, acro and dare we say some cheerleading dance steps, the dads seriously wowed the crowd. While they may have only spent about 90 seconds on stage, but we loved every one of those seconds.
The crowd definitely did as well. The cheering was so loud at certain points you couldn't quite tell what song clip they were dancing too. Pretty sure some Usher, House of Pain and Shaggy was mixed in their somewhere.

Their performance was part of The Royal Dance Competition in Framingham, MA. The company hosts many of these competitions along the East Coast from Massachusetts down to North Carolina, with some of the top dancers coming back for the National Finals in Cape Cod this July.
Perhaps these dads will have a chance to hit the stage again and take home an even bigger trophy.
