A big thank you to everyone who went out to eat at our Wareham-Buzzards Bay Food for Tots locations. We have the results from all of your eating!

Our participating restaurants donated 15 percent of their total sales to Food for Tots.

Congratulations to Mezza Luna for leading the league Thursday night with a $1,000 donation.  Ella's Wood Burning Restaurant donated $503, Kool Kone $500 and Bailey's Surf and Turf came in at $660! That, coupled with a matching donation of $2,500 from Hair In Motion Full Service Spa, and $1,440 from On The Go in Mattapoisett, brings our total to $6,603. The Food for Tots program has currently raised well over $65,000 since April.

We can't thank our participating restaurants enough for their generosity. So far, our Food for Tots campaign has made stops in Fairhaven, Dartmouth, Fall River, Tri-Town, New Bedford, Westport-Tiverton and Wareham-Buzzards Bay. Between the seven stops, our community has come together to donate over $65,000 in support of the Boston Children's Hospital services at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.

A big thank you to all of the people who went out of their way to go out to eat Thursday night in Wareham and Buzzards Bay. A special thank you, again, to Lilly Fagundes from Hair In Motion. Each of our participating restaurants was at near-capacity for lunch and dinner yesterday. It is so inspiring to see so many giving to such a worthy cause.

As I say on the air, whether you are rich or poor, chances are strong that a child you love will need to visit the emergency room at some point or another. Our community simply can't put a price on the benefit of having the world's best pediatricians caring for our children right here in New Bedford.
