According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz, first responders arrived to find the 14-year-old boy with serious injuries. He was transported to Tobey Hospital in Wareham, where he was pronounced deceased.

It is the second fatal dirt bike crash involving a teenager at the same motocross track in the past few years. In 2021, 13-year-old Ava Pioppi of Carver was killed in a fatal crash there.

Sergeant Bryan Whalen, Public Information Officer for Wareham Police, said that one of the department’s officers was involved in a motor vehicle crash while responding to the high-priority incident and was transported to Tobey with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The fatal dirt bike crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
