Onset Firefighter Injured In Hit and Run Incident

A hit and run incident is under investigation in Wareham.

An on-duty Onset firefighter was struck by a car Friday night while assigned to a storm-related incident on Cranberry Highway, near the Onset Avenue intersection. The car then left the scene.

The firefighter was transported immediately to Rhode Island Hospital with what police say were serious injuries. His condition is not known.

Authorities are not releasing his name at this time.
