Vigil Held For Durfee Senior Killed In Route 24 Crash

Family and friends gathered at the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River Monday night to remember Hannah Raposo, the 18-year-old Durfee High School Senior who was killed Friday night in a car crash on Route 24.

During the ceremony 18 doves were released, each one representing a year of her life.

Among those in attendance to release the doves was Raposo's mom Angela Lehn who told ABC6 that she was touched by the outpouring of love and support from so many people.

"It's been very hurtful that my Hannah has been gone. But to see the community, the people, the boys club, to feel the way they do about my Hannah, it makes me warm," said Lehn.

Raposa was President of the Keystone Club, and had recently been named youth of the year by the Boys & Girls Club.

Friends from the Boys & Girls Club like Haley Moller called Raposa a great role model.

"She helped us become better in school, and she helped us with community service, and she was a really nice person," said Moller.

Massachusetts State Police say it's believed that Raposo was not wearing her seat belt when the accident occured and her family is asking in her memory, for people to buckle up.

Auclair Funeral Home, posted a notice on their website saying that vistitation hours will be held Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 690 S. Main St., in Fall River.
