The big game has come and gone. Each year we see a blanket of confetti fall from above as thousands of family members and media rush the field to capture the emotions of the winning team. Photo-worthy moments that, in addition to capturing the tears of joy and delighted expressions, also feature teams in winning merchandise.

Tee-shirts and hats feature the team name and the word "Champions" somewhere on said items. Clearly they're made in advance, but how can you know which team will be the victor? You can't.

So instead, you make both teams "champs," at least on the shirt. I can only imagine the frantic nature in which these winning items are handed out, especially during a close game that comes down to the wire.

You also need to get rid of the merchandise you created for the losing team. Enter Good360, an organization that distributes goods to over 100,000 nonprofits around the world, allowing them to help others and keep items out of landfills.

“At Good360, we believe in the power of partnerships to create lasting change," Cinira Baldi, CEO of Good360, said. "Whether it’s responsibly distributing apparel with the NFL, activating in areas impacted by natural disasters, or providing critical supplies to communities in need, our mission is to ensure that donated products serve a meaningful purpose."

This past Super Bowl marked the 11th year in which Good360 and the NFL have been working together. Items like sweatshirts, hats, towels and t-shirts which can no longer be sold due to the outcome of the game are then "responsibly distributed to nonprofit organizations globally, furthering Good360’s mission to create a sustainable and impactful future."

“By turning surplus into support, the NFL can reduce waste while maximizing social good,"  said Anna Isaacson, SVP of Social Responsibility for the NFL.

The items have made there way to various countries including Ukraine, Georgia, Estonia, Mongolia and Latvia.

Next time you're celebrating a team's win or purchasing a championship shirt, think about the other merch that's on its way to do some good.

Goodwill has always had an impossibly solid business model... People give their stuff to them for free. Goodwill sells it in-store and online. Instant profits... but there is a limit to what they will accept on the back dock. Here's a quick rundown of what Goodwill might turn away.
