dNB Burgers is known for their twists on classic burger recipes. It has made quite the name for itself in the five years that it has been in business in New Bedford. When the burger joint announced that it was moving on Monday, December 30, folks were a little worried that they would be moving far away.

Luckily, the hub is only moving half a mile from its current address at 22 Elm Street. dNB will now call 768 Purchase Street their new home. While I am not a fan of burgers myself, almost every other person in the FUN 107 office would probably do unspeakable things for a burger from dNB. I'd rather sink my teeth in a Nashville Hot Chicken Sando.

The other new kid in town is Sugar Plum Sweets. Previously located in Padanaram Village in Dartmouth, the gelato shop formerly known as ‘Village Sweets’ has made the move to the Downtown area and will be located between the new dNB Burgers and Green Bean on Purchase Street.

Currently scheduled to open mid-March, the store will offer gelato, chocolates, baked goods and candy. I never did get the chance to try out this shop filled with treats while it was located in Padanaram. I hope to not repeat the mistake as it opens its doors downtown. I know so many people that were bummed when they closed in October of 2019. I’m sure they will be happy to know it will make a sweet return to the SouthCoast in just a couple of months. I’d like a gelato cookie sandwich STAT.
