Meet Samuel the Teenage Boy Who Loves to Laugh
Samuel, who goes by Sam, is a 13-year-old with a personality that fills every room he walks into. This week's Tuesday's Child, brought to you by Greater New Bedford McDonald's and First Citizens Federal Credit Union, is a vibrant, affectionate, and genuinely funny kid who is ready to find his forever family.
Who is Samuel?
Sam is easygoing, playful, and full of warmth. His social worker describes him as someone who will test you just enough to make you laugh. "He's very funny about it," she said. "He'll just look at you and smile." Though Sam is nonverbal, he finds his ways to communicate. He is currently working with a device to help him create dialog with others. According to his social worker, he is making major progress. "He really has a lot to say in his own way," she noted. "Although he's nonverbal, he is not lacking expression."
What Does Sam Love to Do?
Sam is happiest when he is outside. His social worker recalled bringing him to the playground for the first time on a warm summer day. "He was swinging, laughing hysterically," she said. "I saw him be a child and I saw him act in a way where he was just so genuinely happy." Sam also loves water play, whether that means splashing in a pool, running through sprinklers, or showing off his swimming skills. Indoors, he enjoys his stuffed animals, his play kitchen, coloring, his iPad, and watching his favorite shows.
Sam Isn't Afraid to Try New Foods
Sam is a curious and happy eater who enjoys a wide variety of foods. His absolute favorite is Ghanaian cuisine, which brings him a sense of comfort, family, and joy.
What Kind of Family is Samuel Looking For?
Sam thrives with structure, connection, and encouragement. He is described by everyone who knows him as a sweet and loving child who brings warmth and laughter wherever he goes. If your family is ready for big energy, a playful imagination, and a heart that gives generously, Sam might be exactly who you have been waiting for.
