Tree Lighting Events Across The Southcoast
The holidays are coming up quick and soon it will be 'beginning to look a lot like Christmas' on the Southcoast. So if you're looking for tree lightings...we've got you covered!
If you love holiday lights and fun family events, here is where you can head over the next few weekends.
New Bedford's Downtown Holiday Stroll will be Saturday and Sunday December 5th & 6th.
The event will run 12noon-4p both days, with Santa arriving by antique fire truck on Saturday at noon and photos with Mr & Mrs Claus both days from noon-4p.
There'll also be the parade up Williams St Saturday at 4pm, followed by the tree lighting in front of the library at 5pm.
There will be live entertainment and fun for the kids, plus a Craft Fair on the second floor of the DNB Burgers' building too!
Fall River isn't wasting any time. The weekend after Thanksgiving they'll be lighting up the city's Christmas Tree.
On Saturday November 28th you can start the day with free festive events at the Fall River Historical Society,
They'll have entertainment and activities including live statues, magic, juggling, face painting and music. Plus kids can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus in their 19th-century cast iron gazebo. And everyone can enjoy their acclaimed themed Christmas trees at the Holiday Open House.
Then just head down Rock St towards City Hall and get ready for the annual tree lighting at 6pm sharp!
Taunton's Lighting of the Green is coming soon too!
On Saturday December 5th the 102nd Lighting of the Green will be happening in "The Christmas City" from 4-8pm
Visitors can enjoy the holiday light display on the green all night as well as check out train rides at City Hall, hayrides at the Taunton Federal Credit Union and pictures with Santa at the Superior Courthouse.
Of course the tree lighting also takes place that night. At 5pm on the main stage Santa arrives, there's a fireworks display and the tree lights go on!
