Tiverton Break-In Suspect Arrested In Dartmouth
An observant police officer in Dartmouth helped bring about the arrest of a break-in suspect wanted in Tiverton.
Dartmouth Police Sgt. Peter Canuel spotted a vehicle on Hixville Road Friday afternoon that matched the description of a car used in a Tiverton break-in.
Canual followed the suspect vehicle in his private car till cruisers arrived. The suspect then took off, nearly striking a Dartmouth cruiser.
Police later found the suspect's car abandoned on the Highland Avenue railroad tracks.
Couto was arrested on outstanding warrants for breaking and entering and larceny in Tiverton. He's also facing five motor vehicle charges for his alleged actions in Dartmouth.
