A day to involve your entire family in a fun, incredibly meaningful activity is coming on Sunday, September 30th.   It's the 3rd annual "Sharon's Walk". This is the one event we are most proud of. The idea was brought to life by my FUN 107 Morning Show Co-host, Sharon Fogaren, not long before we lost her. Sharon wanted to do something in honor of her late mother, Elaine Fogaren, that would leave a lasting postitive impact here in the Southcoast. Sharon had started to plan a walk that would raise money to fight the disease that claimed her mom. It would be at the beautiful Fort Taber on New Bedford's waterfront.   But, in the blink of an eye, our beloved Sharon was gone as well. We no longer hear that wonderful voice, that sharp witt, and the infectious laughter.  But, be assured that Sharon is smiling down on the success of our first two "Sharon's Walk".    The first was in April 2010, when over 900 people showed up on a cold, rainy Sunday morning, and raised well over $20,000 for the new Southcoast Centers For Cancer Care, which was still under construction in Fairhaven.

The center is now complete. It helps hundreds of area families by providing the absolute best care for patients, elimiating the need for them to travel to Boston. With new technologies available monthly, and the need to increase the staff size, it is crucial to keep the funds coming in. Please join us for this year's "Sharon's Walk" on Sunday, September 30th. Be part of a team, or walk as as an indivdual. Bring your kids and the dog too. If you can't join us, please sponsor someone (like me). You can sign up HERE at Fun 107.com. It will be a fun event with many family activities in addition to the walk. I really look forward to seeing you at "Sharon's Walk".
