These Masks Are a Bunch of Hocus Pocus
Before we know it, the heat will be cooling off and the leaves will begin to turn as we welcome the fall season to the SouthCoast.
While the season will be changing in no time, the need to wear masks seems to be sticking around for a while longer, and I think I just found one to match my Halloween costume perfectly.
The 1993 Disney film Hocus Pocus has brought me so much joy over the years. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched it; just believe me when I say it’s been a lot. Watching the movie is now a vital part of enjoying autumn, and even though I am much older than when I first watched it, I don’t see any reason to stop the tradition now.
Businesses have already begun to push their fall products, and since masks are the new opportunity for fashion trends, holiday-inspired masks are flooding my timeline. A company called Peachy Sunday is selling masks with the smiles of the Sanderson sisters, and they are at the top of my wish list.
You know a movie is a classic when you can recognize the characters just by their iconic smiles. Winifred’s buck teeth, Sarah’s coy smile, or Mary’s odd smirk will go perfectly with the matching wardrobe. I am far beyond trick-or-treating, and with the way this year has been, there probably won’t be any, but I am still a big fan of the holiday and still plan on getting in the spirit.
So if you see me around town sporting a Winifred-grin, I’m not putting a spell on you. I’m just merely enjoying the Halloween season.
