The Simpsons Writer Says Springfield Isn’t in Massachusetts
But what about that awesome episode where they went to Boston!?
According to the Boston Globe, a longtime writer for The Simpsons says the family does not actually live in Massachusetts. Writer Mike Reiss officially said on MSNBC's show Morning Joe that Springfield, Mass. is not the setting for the show.
I don't believe it for a second, but it came straight from the horse's mouth. Apparently Reiss said Springfield is "nowhere," according to Newser. They chose Springfield because there are 40 cities and towns in the US that have that name.
Sure, maybe it's not based in Massachusetts, but we've still got that Boston episode, which was pretty boss.
