Wonderful news for a local family owned restaurant. The Lebanese Restaurant has rose from the ashes and are well on their way to a Grand Re-Opening.

Fun 107 spoke with Gary Moujabber, the son of Nabih (Father) and Nouhad (Mother), the owners of The Lebanese Kitchen, in regards of an exciting update pertaining to the family business. Along side parents and his two younger Brothers Andrew and Alex, the Moujabber Family had this to say:

"We are happy to announce that the final paperwork between the previous owner and ourselves have been finalized." Moujabber exclaimed, "It's a great feeling to be moving forward so we can anticipate an opening, ideally for Memorial Day."

Friendly and welcoming customer service has always been a priority at The Lebanese Kitchen and they will be opening in the old location of the Mattapoisett Chowder House at 79 Fairhaven Road.

"The important thing that we are focusing on now is make sure that our service, our wait staff as well as food and prep is ready to go to serve our customers when we finally open."

New additions will be added for a different atmosphere and experience.

"We are really excited to expand our business by adding a bar with full service and drink menu as long as the liquor license is approved."

Gary and the rest of his Family give their thoughts and thanks to all who have supported and helped since the tragic fire in New Bedford.

"The town of Mattapoissett has been been very helping and welcoming throughout the transition from the old location to this one. Coming from a small 'Mom and Pop' joint to a larger scaled restaurant, we are looking forward to growing and showing our true and full potentional as both a business and family-operated establishment."

The Restaurant takes pride in their menu and what the restaurant is serving up for their customers.

"Like we mentioned in previous discussions with Fun 107, the Lebanese Kitchen will continue to offer our popular dishes, but are excited to expand the menu to offer different Mediterranean and International selections to give our customers a twist on what we already have to offer" Moujabber said.

The Moujabber Family are giving all they have to open their doors as soon as possible, but are relieved in knowing that the finish line is now in sight.

"Although we are anticipating a Memorial Weekend opening, ideally, we are working hard to make sure we get back to our old customers as well as attract new customers who have never had or already enjoy authentic Lebanese Cuisine. The one thing we have always paid attention to and want our customers to appreciate is the fact that all of our ingredients and food is fresh daily with the freshest ingredients and to pay attention to the detail that we are working hard to provide for everyone to enjoy."

The overwhelming love and help from the community has brought happiness to the Moujabber Family.

"Once again, we give many thanks to the town of Mattapoisett for backing us up and welcoming us and to Fun 107 and our community for supporting us and getting us back on our feet in these times of expansion and new beginnings." Moujabber finalized.

Until the open sign hangs proudly from the new establishment, the Mattapoisett Community and surrounding neighbors will be looking forward to the classic meat pies and new dishes.
