Probably not the Fourth of July he was planning, but Tedy Bruschi spent the holiday in the hospital.

Former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi suffered a second stroke on Thursday, according to his Tedy's Team organization.

Tedy's Team was actually created to raise awareness for stroke and heart disease after Bruschi's first stroke back in 2005.

According to the post, Tedy recognized the signs of his oncoming stroke and presumably managed to get himself the help he needed right away.

It was a TIA stroke, which is often referred to as a mini-stroke–though it could be a major warning sign.

Bruschi is said to be recovering at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro and he did thank all the doctors, nurses and staff who helped him through this scary situation.

No word on how long he will remain in the hospital or what the future may hold for Tedy, but as someone who has already lived through a stroke, he is presumably prepared for the road to recovery ahead.

Definitely wishing this Patriots legend all the best and a return to full health real soon.
