New Bedford parks will once again be the subject of targeted ground spraying conducted by the Bristol County Mosquito Control Project. Spraying for mosquitoes will begin early Thursday morning, from 2am to sunrise, around the City's parks, including Buttonwood, Brooklawn, Fort Taber, Hazelwood, Riverside, Clasky, Ashley Park and the Poor Farm area...

Mosquitoes carrying EEE were found in New Bedford on Monday. The Department of Health says the mosquitoes were primarily the bird-biting type, but have scheduled a spraying for Friday morning.

It happens every year. The threat of West Nile Virus, and EEE. So, this Friday, the city's first spraying will take place.
