A Fall River man who committed five separate robberies in a span of 48 hours has been sentenced to serve five to seven years in state prison.

The SouthCoast will be honoring veterans this weekend with the Remembering Our Fallen Traveling War Memorial at the hangar at the New Bedford Regional Airport.

New Bedford Police are actively seeking to add new officers to the force and have begun an all-out recruiting campaign, beginning with the civil service exam.

Police in Fall River have made three arrests in connection to two recent bank robberies that took place at a Bank 5 and a St. Anne's Credit Union on Oct. 29.
