After 50 years of losing a transit connection between New Bedford and Nantucket, the SeaStreak Fast Ferry has reestablished that round trip once more.

I rode on the ol "Shamonchi" many times when I was younger. My Uncle and Aunt would take me with them on their yearly visit to Martha's Vineyard. What I remember most is that everyone pronounced the name of the boat differently. It was no luxury liner by any means, but it was "Our" ferry and I' sure holds many great memories for lots of us...
