Despite what happens the rest of the way this off season, the theme for the Boston Red Sox' 2016 season may have just been decided; A Farewell to Big Papi.
This might be where I draw the line. I'm a pretty big Red Sox fan, but owning Big Papi's beard hair might be just a little bit gross. You have until Saturday, November 30th to bid on the Shane Victorino or the David Ortiz beard. To be fair, the beard hair that Papi wore in the World Series is being auctioned off for a good cause...
David Ortiz came under fire last week after he bashed in a dugout telephone with his bat, but THIS week he does a 180 and poses with a fan's baby during the National Anthem before a game against the Kansas City Royals.
Big Papi got tossed in the Red Sox 7-3 win over Baltimore on Saturday night, after the umpire called a strike on an 3-0 count. Ortiz would end up going down on strikes, and he was not a big fan of the pitch that set him up for that.
During last nights Sox Rays game there was a small melee in the 6th inning which once again cleared both dugouts. There is a history with these 2 teams, and while there were no punches thrown last night, it made me flashback to one of my favorite brawls in Red Sox history...
