Local travelers certainly know the benefits of traveling through T.F. Green Airport and now USA Today is telling everyone else too.

For the second year in a row, T.F. Green in Warwick, Rhode Island has come out near the top for Best Small Airports in the U.S.

Green was second only to Huntsville International Airport in Alabama in USA Today's "10 Best Readers Choice Travel Award" contest.

Both airports landing high on the list of Best Small Airports, meaning airports that service less than 10 million passengers a year.

Green ranked high for its lack of crowds and lines compared with nearby Logan Airport in Boston (clearly not a small airport) and was touted as a great option for travelers heading to Cape Cod as well.

Personally I haven't traveled out of Logan Airport in an extremely long time.

Most places I have traveled have flights available from T.F. Green, so why give myself the headache of a trip to Logan?

Green has much easier parking, a smaller terminal making finding your flight simpler and of course much faster security checks.

And with new flight destination being added all the time, there are more and more places you can travel to from this much more convenient airport.

Love the it's getting recognized nationally by USA Today for the second year in a row, but c'mon don't give away out local travel secret to everyone. How will we stay a small airport?

Other fairly local airports landing on the USA Today list include Bangor International Airport in Bangor, Maine and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in Manchester, N.H.
