Swansea Restaurant Offers One of the Best Brunches in America

Brunch just might be the best meal out there. It practically tells you to sleep in, day drink and indulge in fancy foods – all good things if you ask me.

And apparently one of the best brunches in the entire country is right in our own backyard.

OpenTable, a popular restaurant reservation site, complied a list of the 100 Best Brunch Restaurants in America recently and The Aviary Restaurant in Swansea made the list.

Located right on Route 6 in Swansea near the intersection with Route 136, The Aviary offers both indoor and outdoor dining in an absolutely beautiful setting.

And if you think the place looks amazing, wait until you see the food.

Though OpenTable doesn't get too specific about the brunches they dubbed the best, we spoke with General Manager Jennifer Vieira at The Aviary and got the inside scoop on the what makes their brunch so good.

Like their crab cake and avocado eggs benedict. Though they offer your typical eggs benedict too, this avocado edition sounds amazing. Made with crab cakes from scratch and sliced avocado topped with poached eggs on English muffins and hollandaise sauce, it looks as delicious as it sounds.

Another fan favorite according to Jennifer are the huevos rancheros. They char flour tortillas and top them with refried black beans, two sunny side up eggs, salsa fresca, avocado and cilantro.

Then there's the Nutty Pananacakes. It's like having dessert for breakfast with buttermilk banana pancakes covered in Nutella, toasted almonds and whipped cream.

And the equally tasty beignets, deep fried dough tossed in a cinnamon sugar and berry compote.

Though if you actually wanted to have a healthier brunch Jennifer says the acai bowl is the way to go. The blend acai together with bananas, strawberries and blueberries then top it with nut granola and toasted coconut. Jennifer says it's like a healthy version of ice cream. And who doesn't want to start the day with ice cream?

Of course what would brunch be without the bloody Mary? And The Aviary serves up an Ultimate Bloody Mary that is topped with a skewer of tomato and mozzarella, a slice of meat, a couple of shrimp, a deviled egg and more. It's like a whole sandwich on top of your drink and I want one.

Clearly we can all see now why The Aviary Restaurant in Swansea was placed on the Best Brunch in America list.
