Strap on your skates and get ready to party like it's 1975.

The 4th Annual CommUNITY Roll Out is coming to Buttonwood Park on Saturday, August 12 from 11 am to 3 pm. This 4-hour event is open to the public and starts at the intersection of Rockdale Avenue and Union Street.

This is the perfect opportunity to lace up your skates, ride your bike, bust out your skateboard, get your kids into some wagons or strollers, and roll out to celebrate Unity, Love, and Community.

The route will be similar to the Cape Verdean Parade route with a few minor changes. Safety gear is recommended for those on wheels. Once the route comes to its end at the Buttonwood Park Basketball Courts, people can expect to find drinks and snacks. Anyone is welcome to donate water and snacks, just reach out to the organizers.

After the CommUNITY Roll Out and replenishing refreshments, all are welcome to join for Roller Disco in the park, hosted by New Moon. Guest DJ Frankie Rhymin and resident DJs Andy Anello, baye, & Neil Matheson will be spinning the tunes to skate along to. If you've ever been to Hot Wheels or Carousel Skating Rink, it's enough to bring back all the nostalgia.

Additional details: no motorized bikes or boards, but if you have a scooter (for example a non-motorized Razor scooter), by all means, bring it. Finally, safety first- helmets are recommended as well as knee and elbow pads for beginner skaters.
