FAIRHAVEN - Fairhaven High School was abuzz with police activity this morning, but parents have nothing to fear.

Superintendent Dr. Robert Baldwin says the high school was secured this morning so State Police could conduct an annual sweep of the building with a K-9 unit, searching for drugs or other materials that may be stashed inside lockers and bathrooms.

Dr. Baldwin tells WBSM News the search is conducted once a year, at random and without advance notice.

State and local police coordinated the search.

Fairhaven Police confirm nothing was found during the search.
