If you were to ask any dog lover what the best day of the year is, they may very well say August 26th.

August 26th is National Dog Day. It's a day to shower our four-legged friends with even more love and affection than they already get and show appreciation for their role in our lives.

This is an appreciation post for all dogs, but especially my sweet girl Coco.

Coco is my 13-month-old French bulldog and she is 20 pounds of craziness and affection.

When my husband and I got her at 9 weeks old, I highly underestimated the puppy stage. She was full of non-stop energy and loved to use our throw rugs as bathrooms. I grew up with cats my entire life, so getting a puppy for the first time was quite the handful.

With the help of my husband, we learned how to listen to Miss Coco and raise her to become a well-behaved, social pup.

She turned one in July and she has completely stolen my heart.

Coco is happiest when Mom and Dad are home snuggling on the couch. She loves playing fetch and chasing her cat sisters around the living room.

If there is any ray of sunshine coming through the windows, she will find it and make herself comfortable, and when it comes to adventures, she is all in.

Coco is a love bug and she has brought so much joy to my family. I can always count on her to make me smile, cheer me up, or make me laugh with her constant snorting.

Sometimes, I think we don't deserve dogs, but mostly, I am so happy we have them.

If SouthCoast Dogs Had a Dating App, It Would Look Something Like This

August 26 is International Dog Day, and it got me thinking. What if there was a way for dogs to connect with other dogs in the area to make new friends? Or maybe even find love? Twenty-six dogs living on the SouthCoast sent me their profile picture and bio. Let's see the eligible pups.
