Fun 107 joins Southcoast Health in recognizing our local outstanding nurses in the area. As part of National Nurses Week, we'll join Southcoast Health in shining the spotlight on some of the truly outstanding nurses.

For starters, Southcoast Health awarded $10,000 in academic nursing scholarships at Charlton Memorial.

The scholarships were awarded to the following:

The Spirit of Nursing Award was presented to Stefani Lawrence, RN at the Charlton Emergency Department

Each year, Southcoast Health also acknowledges an outstanding support service member. This award has been developed to recognize the valuable role of a support staff member who exhibited a commitment to quality of service. This individual demonstrated all the Southcoast values each and every day. Everyone who enters this department is greeted with a smile. This individual consistently delivers care to all staff and visitors at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Knowing most people are in a hurry, she goes out of her way to accommodate everyone. Winner of support service award goes to Ana Pires, Food Service worker.

New to Practice awards
Nominees were selected based on the following criteria…
- New to Practice Nurse with less than a year of experience
- A positive attitude
- A passion for customer service
- Outstanding commitment to continual learning and growth

Winner is Nick Bizier, Charlton Memorial Emergency Department

Medical Staff Partnership Award
Dr. Patrick Curran, Southcoast Cardiology

Awards were also given out to Southcoast VNA employees.

Spirit of Nursing Award- Jodie Glidden
Her coworkers say that she personifies the caring and compassionate nature of nursing. She laughs jokes offer sympathy and comfort with all her patients. She is viewed as a role model and mentor to her colleagues. Her coworkers see her as a team player. She makes each and every patient feel heard.
