Fun 107 and First Citizens’ Announce Greatest Needs Drive to Help SouthCoast Youth
First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union is teaming up with Fun 107 and Market Basket to provide winter essentials to those in need on the SouthCoast. The Greatest Needs Drive is being held the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and we are looking for coats, blankets, and other items for children and young adults.
As the days get colder, it becomes even more important for people to have what they need to stay warm. That need is even more critical for children who may not have the ability to provide for themselves.
That is why First Citizens’ has partnered with New Bedford Public School’s Family Registration Center and the YWCA Southeastern MA Youth Service Program to distribute the items to the most vulnerable members of our community this winter.

We are making it as easy as possible to contribute and are accounting for any concerns regarding the pandemic, as it will be a curbside drop-off event at the Market Basket on Coggeshall Street in New Bedford. Load up your car with any of the needed items that you are no longer using, or do some shopping for those in need.
Suggested donations include:
- New or gently used coats
- New socks
- New undergarments
- New or gently used sneakers
- Blankets
- Gift cards for groceries, Walmart, and/or Target
Whether you want to stop by with your items before you do your grocery shopping, or you want to pick up a gift card at Market Basket and drop it off on your way out, it will be greatly appreciated.
