If you watch ABC6 on a regular basis, you may have started noticing something different about your favorite TV personalities.

It was actually something I never noticed on my own until it was pointed out to me by ABC6 chief meteorologist Jeff Desnoyers.

But most men in TV news do not have facial hair.

I guess it makes sense, the whole clean-cut look for television. But I never actually picked up on it until it was pointed out to me.

After hearing that I had to do some serious thinking, but only came up with Wolf Blitzer from CNN as a TV newsman with a beard.

But not this month.

For No-Shave November, Desnoyers along with reporter and weekend anchor John Krinjak are growing out their beards to join the fight against cancer.

The guys started over a week ago and the premise is pretty simple.

Don't shave for the entire month of November. And as people notice and ask about it, tell them you are doing it for cancer awareness and to educate the population about preventative measures.

Desnoyers and Krinjak are also using No-Shave November to raise funds for cancer research and treatment.

You can support their facial hair growth for a good cause by donating what you can here.

Since it started No-Shave November has raised over $3.5 million for cancer research and this month the guys at ABC6 have a goal of raising an additional $3000 locally.

You can help support them with a donation and watch their beards grow every day on ABC6.
